Shortcut Overlay

  SantasLittleHelper 13:29 01 Apr 2009

Hi, when I install a program, the shortcuts on the desktop get an overlay of whichever program icon I have installed, at the moment they all show an Adobe icon attached to the shortcut icon, how can I stop this happening, and get rid of the attached icons I already have?

Which version of Windows are you using? With XP, TweakUI from click here includes an option to "Repair Icons".

Hi, sorry I should have said I am using Vista, unfortunately the TweakUI won't work, thanks for trying.

I have sued with 2 Vista machines and a laptop very successfully. Very simple.

There is TweakVI for Vista click here but, although it also has the facility to remove the "shortcut arrows" on desktop icons, it doesn't appear to have an option to *REPAIR* damaged icons in the way that TweakUI does. :(
