Sharing/Security Problem

  Anon-330448 09:57 03 Sep 2007

Hi all,

I am having problems trying to gain access to some folders/sub folders on a partition on our Windows 2003 Server.

The set-up: Partition (Core D:) has a main folder for all staff to use (Staff). In this folder there are folders for each individual staff member - to which I have got 'Full Control' set in both the Share and Security option - with sub folders.

On trying to gain access to some of the sub folders I get blocked. There are around 1 third of these folders/files that I cannot gain access to. The one's at the moment that I need access to are the Policies and Personnel folders.

I have looked at all the Share and Security Permissions. The one option that is not active is the 'Special Permissions' option and this is from the top of the hierarchical structure. For some reason it is greyed out.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
