HiI want to share AOL Broadband between two reaonably spec'd laptops both running XP Home...What the best and easiest way...I am not that clue'd up on networking jargon...so go easy on me... treat me like i know nothing..ThanksGuy
You need this click here as AOL doesnt support home networking.
Ok - I know AOL don't ""support"" home networking...but on the help pages it says you can do it... but they just don't provide any supportSO i download and run the software from Mr. Analog X... and everything is hunky dory?DO i install on Both PC's?????Need a touch more help..Thanks for the start tho.
From tech. help at AOL. thought it may be useful! j.================================================For the Nth time No support does not mean it doesn't work!!5 PC's on a lan all with internet access using AOL as the connection, you only have to know how to do it!!!Try asking? Clue: Proxy server.
SO proxy is the way forward... practically I install the proxy software on the machine thats hooked up...Then tell me other PC to look for the proxy (in IE)This would also work if i had mroe than one PC i presume.I downloaded AnX proxy - i DO LOVE that website so i should be able to get going sooner rather than later...
What do you think that link was for that i gave mate?
Brain not fully in gear to-day! it was from something I was reading on the message boards at AOL, realised you where advising the same thing after re-reading the post. ;o(
