Seems a lot of adding to the registry to get it working again is there a simple fix that i can download or something?

Does not seem to be, I would follow the advice in this post:

1) Click Start
2) Click Run
3) Type cmd, and click OK.
4) Type the following commands at a command prompt. Press enter after each command.

cd /d %windir%\system32
Net stop vss
Net stop swprv
regsvr32 ole32.dll
regsvr32 oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 vss_ps.dll
vssvc /register
regsvr32 /i swprv.dll
regsvr32 /i eventcls.dll
regsvr32 es.dll
regsvr32 stdprov.dll
regsvr32 vssui.dll
regsvr32 msxml.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 msxml4.dll

You do not have to type each command, just copy and paste each line on the flashing cursor then press enter before moving to the next.
I know it look a little daunting but I would have a go.Create a restore point before you do, just in case.
