when i open Outlook to send an email it always is set to send from my icoud address which i do not use normally. i then have to change that to my preferred address. how can i set the default address to the one that i want to use??

Much the same thing happens to me. I use Outlook in Office 365. With that I have 5 e-mail accounts set up. The default seems to make no difference and new e-mails seem to go from whichever Inbox I have chosen at the time. I have got used to simply selecting the one I need from the drop down list, if necessary. Maybe others will provide a solution for both of us.

I'm not sure whether you have already tried this but here is a guide that says it has a way of setting the default from address: click here

Maybe post your solution so that others with the same issue can use it?

I was thinking of that while doing it, but when i found the setting to change and clicked on OK - it all disappeared! Sorry about that. Thanks again for your help, I'll try to be more careful in future.
