Sending one window to external monitor

Is there a program that allows me to send one of my windows that are open to an external monitor, and allow me to use other programs on my laptop without changing what's on the external monitor?

What is your operating system?
Extended desktop will allow you to drag a window over to the other monitor click here
It can get a bit confusing as you use the same mouse pointer on each display scrolling between the 2.

I've managed to get it to work now using a program called UltraMon. I'm on Windows 7 and it uses the extended desktop. One problem I've found though is that if I make the video I'm watching on the 2nd monitor full screen, and I click anything on the laptop screen it exits full screen. I've sort of got round it by zooming in on it. I would say my issue is resolved anyway.
