Send & receive - Outlook 2003

Is it possible to set accounts in Outlook 2003 to "send only" as I want to do all the receiving on my laptop (so received emails are in one place only) but would like to be able to send some emails from the PC

Don't think so, but you can set the account to 'leave messages on server', so they would still download to the laptop later.

I've tried that, but if I'm a way fro a few days, which happens a lot, there are vast numbers of emails that download onto teh "other" machine which means that you have the same emails on both machines and it's difficult to keep track of whats where!

I haven't tried it but can you not just delete the POP3 settings and retain the SMTP settings?

Good thinking - I'll give it a go

Ah. Hadn't thought of that.

I tried it, but Outlook won't let you move on to the next screen until all boxes have something in them.

Just don't ever ask Outlook to "receive" on the PC. Just use the send option (not Send/Receive) and on Tools disable all automatic sending/receiving. You can leave the laptop settings as they are.
