Security

I run with Windows XP Home SP2. Use a wireless router with high level of security on that.

I currently have Avast, Sunbelt Personal Firewall, a-aquared, SpywareBlaster and SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition.

I used to have SpybotS&D but have removed it.

Is my current level of security sufficient.

Thank you in advance for any comments.

You have much more than you will ever need. I use AVG free, no firewall for 5 years except for my wireless router which I only got a yesr ago and no antispy stuff. You forgot common sense, if you do not have this no amount of protection will help you. There is a lot of hype written about 'security'.

My what a lot of security....do you live in Fort Knox??

I run AVG8 Internet Security and that does me fine, but as Gandalf says - common sense browsing is what its all about.....

Know what you mean, but I am a belt and braces sort of person, with a lot of common sense when it comes to browsing, Not quite paranoid "yet".

Thanks for your re-assurances.

I don't think that what you have is OTT but I would only run a-aquared, SpywareBlaster and SUPERAntiSpyware if you think you've caught a nasty. I no longer scan with any of those programs unless I think something's not right.

Sorry, didn't mean to say SpywareBlaster in the above.

Thanks VoG appreciate your comments. I keep them updated but rarely scan.

Kind regards
