Search in XP & Vista

In xp the search facility has various options
ie. date, text in file etc
This seems to be missing in Vista.
Is there a way of reintroducing the xp search facility ?

You can choose All, e-mail, document, pictue, music or other.
What more do you want.

All I have in vista is a search box in the corner which doesn't give me any options.

I think you mean advanced search options, & if so click here. G

Top left under box saying search results you should have a bar giving those choices. at the right end is Advanced Search

Have a look at "Search Everything" click here which is an incredibly fast search utility for Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and 7, provided they're installed in an NTFS partition.

I agree with mgmcc, it is a brilliant program.
