SCSI hard drives Anyone know why these are so much more expensive than IDE H/D drives.

Are they any better?

Scsi hard drives were supposed to have been built to a higher standard, spun faster, up to 15,000 rpm, last longer, 1,000,000 hours or 5 years warranty, and cost 3 to 4 times as much.

Scsi drives are still available and still faster than sata, although sata is catching up and will eventually overtake scsi unless something different appears,(solid state hdd's.)

Some sata drives are revamped scsi drives with the electronics changed to sata.
