must admit I have never heard of an on-screan keyboard; anyone heard of such or use one?

There is one in XP, in accessibility ;-)

In XP it is in All Programs, Accessories, Accessibility, On-screen keyboard.

" kept hold of my shift button too long and now my keys wont type what should i do[sorry if i sound stupid and btw am using on screen keyboard]" ; read this on another forum; is this possible; ?

It isn't completely implausible but I've never heard of a problem with holding down the Shift key too long. Stuck keys, esp. CTRL and ALT can cause that sort of problem.

cccccccccccccAre you sure the keyboard cable has nonot come loose in the PC?

  john-232317 20:30 29 May 2006

oooops typo`s

if they rebooted would that fix it? or a system restore?

  VoG II 21:13 29 May 2006

Who knows?

The obvious thing to try is to substitute a working keyboard and see if they still have the problem.
