Scanner, scaling and then printing

  User-312386 11:32 24 Apr 2004

Hi All,

I have been given the task by one of my friends to enlarge his house plans (which are at the moment 1:250).

He wants me to scan them and put them into 1:100

Then he wants me to print them off.

Obviously this has to be done with acuracy as he then has to draw on an extension

How is this done?

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi madboy33©®
A program like Serif DrawPlus has the ability to scale plans and export to printer as tiles.

The problem will be to scan and import the original plans. I assume the plans paper size is greater than A4 and your scanner is A4.

yes the paper is larger than A4 and yes the scanner is A4

Whats the work around?

Or is it a trip to the photocopier place and just get them to increase the size?

madboy33©® I think my first stop would be the reprographics shop and discuss the problem with them.

That isn't a bad suggestion. Rather than scanning several sections and trying to fit them all together, then enlarging them to roughly 250%, it would be quicker, easier, and more accurate to take tham to a professional place, such as Prontaprint or other design studio (or photocopying place).
