  fullyfitted 20:46 08 Nov 2003

I have a Epson Perfection 1200 Scanner which worked well on my old computer on win 98 but when I try and install it on the new toy on xp I get this error message,(I have downloaded the drivers from the Epson site and it is a USB connection)
"LKernel.exe-application error"
"the instruction at"0x771c732a" referenced memory at"0x001619150"The memory could not be"read"
Click on OK to terminate the program

Any advice would be welcome

Q328310 Microsoft hotfix sp2 search in your add remove programs and see if you have that installed.

If you do remove it and see if that resolves it.????

Jim ,
thanks for the onfo.
The only hot fix items listed in add and remove are

k 8823980
k 8824146
sp2 see Q323183 for more information

If I try and remove the last item I get a scary list of progammes that might be affected, I chickened out.

Also I could not find Q323183 to get more info. I'm not looking in the right place I guess

sorry to have wasted your time but I have found that the error was caused by a dicky port on the U S B hub.
