I have a Visioneer4800USB scanner, supplied with an XP pc. I have upgraded my pc to Vista 32bit home basic, and the scanner cannot be "seen".Is there a site that has drivers to download ?

Thanks, but I had checked Xerox/Visioneer, and they have not upgraded the drivers for the 4800 series flatbed scanner, because it was not expensive in the first place. The low quantity of scans I have done, I do not want to buy another scanner, just throw this old one away !

you might get away with uninstall/reinstall

Make sure the software is installed before connecting the scanner.

Or it will never work.

Before you bin it try this
Start/Programs/Accessories/Compatability Wizard/
The idea to set bak the system to XP for this software,
There is out there somewhere a utility or patch called 'Kid Vista' or similar. That is supposed to do that or so I am told.

I am surprised that XP drivers didn't work on Vista, as they do for even very old scanners.

I was going to ask if you had tried compatibility mode, but was beaten to it

All the best
