Scandisk doesn't run automatically after incorrect shut down any more on my W98 PC.
It will run from 'Accessories'.
Any thoughts on this one?

.

Perhaps your MSDOS.SYS file has been adjusted. The line

AutoScan=0

may have been added. This would stop Scandisk automatically running after an incorrect shutdown. Take a copy of the file for safekeeping and try adjusting that line to read

AutoScan=1

in the original MSDOS.SYS file. That should cure your problem, but if anything goes wrong you still have the copy to replace the file you have altered.

Peter.

Peter - thanks for that. I have tried it and the Autoscan is set at 1.
