Saving settings on restart

  dave24 15:55 27 Jan 2009

On the, fortunately rare, occasions when I have to restart, my settings appear to revert to some sort of default situation. This is not really a problem except for the speed of the cursor, cotrolled by the mouse. I have a large screen monitor and set the cursor speed to fairly fast, but on restart, it reverts to its normal slow speed.

How can I set the default speed to fast?

When you set the speed, do you click `OK` before closing the window?

or Apply and OK

Yes, that would work better!!

Thanks guys. I have tried clicking OK and I have tried clicking Apply, but it did not occur to me to click both. I'll try it!

No joy! That doesn't do it!

You don't say what type of mouse it is - but try this.

Start-->Run-->msconfig Go to startup and if you have an entry "Logitech SetPoint" uncheck the box and Apply and OK then reboot.

Alternatively if you have an one or more entries "khalmnpr" in startup then uncheck them.

Thanks Sea Urchin . That did it.

Glad to hear your mouse responded - thanks for the feedback
