I'm happy about backing up my emails, but is it possible to save my Outlook account settings in Windows 2000?

Ahem. Whilst sipping champagne...

Find the *.pst file and copy to CD - all Outlook data is there.

click here Which Outlook? this auto backup is for 2003, but they do them from outlook 2000. I use outlook 2000, and it works a treat.

Thanks, Diodorus and rawprawn, but it's not my folders that I want to back up. It's the actual mail account settings, i.e. servers. It's not a big deal, I could make a note of all the settings but I was hoping that there was an easier way.

I don't know anything about Windows 2000, but if it has a System restore facility that will back up all the settings in Outlook as a norm, at least it does in XP. If not have you considered something like Acronis True Image 7 This is an excellent program and will backup your whole drive.

Hi, I have Outlook 2000, but I can't find it. Can you show me the way ? If I go to Import/Export. In export, from which I would expect to send the settings, I do not get the option. In Import I get Internet Mail Account settings, but if I follow that it says none available. How do I get them to an.iaf format in the first place ?

Thanks to the info you provided, I've found the relevant info on the MS site. Although IAF feature isn't available in Outlook 2002, there's a workaround - File > Import/Export settings. That'll do nicely. Thanks, ßéLâ.
