To be honest, I'm not entirely sure if the revision/version of the motherboard (mobo) would make a difference installing SATA/RAID drivers. This info will be marked on the mobo - see my above link again to determine version/rev.
We had a discussion about this some weeks ago about SATA drivers. In some instances it appears one doesn't require SATA drivers if only SATA functionality is required - i.e., no RAID.
If this is your situation (no RAID required), then try installing WinXP (please confirm) without these drivers. In one of the FAQs about the mobo I found this that may confirm the above - "Based on Intel ICH5/6/7(R) controller specification, when the SATA ports that is provided by ICH5/6/7(R) works at non-RAID mode, you don't need to install specific device driver. OS will report SATA HDD works at UDMA(5) mode, but in fact, the SATA HDD will work in standard SATA mode." G
