satellite TV

Please can anyone help me; I have a couple of questions to ask:

• Is there any way I can get satellite TV through my computer without having to go through sky and paying a monthly fee, if so what equipment would I need?

• What would be the best laptop to get for this and would I be able to run it back through my TV?

Sky is legally only available by paid subscription.

To suggest any way of circumventing that would be aiding and abetting an offence and in breach of the forum rules.

You could always buy a freesat box, and use that on your tv for about £50

Of course you will need a dish fitted, that wont cost an awful lot.

Satellite TV doesn't have to mean Sky. You can receive BBC/ITV/C4/FIVE from a satellite but if you want to watch the subscription channels you will have to use a Sky box and pay - I don't know of any computer orientated non-Sky equipment that will decrypt Sky origin content. So it depends upon what you want.
