A better G card or more ram is far more noticable than chnging from IDE to SATA drive unless you are doing some serious computing.

hi,i will not be doing serious computing,i will be burning the odd dvd and playing the odd game but maybe only a couple of times a month.that is why i need a decent graphics card,my agp one is a 6800 but that is now on ebay.any one else care to comment or is that the thoughts of everyone?

It depends what games you play really. The concerted opinion at the moment is that the Nvidia 8800GT is one of the best for the money.

It also of course depends how much you are willing to spend.
