Samsung SSD Vs GTech thunderbolt 2 in RAID 1

Hi there,

I have a pretty specific question here but hopefully someone might have an answer for it?

I'm a filmmaker and edit high bit rate HD and 4k footage, I have a brand new gtech 8tb thunderbolt 2 drive configured to RAID 1 and also a little Samsung SSD with a USB 3.1 port however my 2015 iMac would only utilize it at normal USB 3 speeds.

What i'd like to know is, which will give me the best results when editing, the fastest read/write speeds. A or B...?!

A. GTech 8tb Thunderbolt 2 drive configured to RAID 1 (2 x 7200rpm HDD's)

B. 500gb Samsung SSD drive using a USB 3 port.

Any ideas most welcome!
