safe to leave ADSL Netgear router on all time?

Hi all
having great fun just having signed up to ADSL on a wireless router - is there anything to be gained from switching the router off (aside from going on hols of course)overnight? Will the components "wear out" sooner if left on?
cheers

I leave mine on all of the time. Don't see a problem with that. There are arguments for switching off and there are arguments for leaving on.

It is a personal preference.

Personally switch it off when I'm not using it. The reason I do this is as wireless security is still a bit flakey I figure if its not on, noone can connect to it.

As above its personal choice, but thats the reason I turn mine off.

Apart from the annual hols, and when I've been fiddling with the home network, router been on for 'three years'
