The last few days, each time I start my pc I get RUNDLL message:-
error loading c:\windows\emaqivuxe.dll
specified module could not be found

What does this mean?
How can I correct it?

Nothing on Google for emaqivuxe.dll did you spell it correctly.

It sounds as though one of your ‘anti’ programs has removed malware file(s) but not the reference that loads it.

Remove the entry by clicking Start > Run, type regedit, press Enter and in the left pane navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.

In the right pane look for emaqivuxe.dll and if it’s there, right-click it and select Delete. Next time you start the machine, you will not receive the message.

If it’s not in the above key it could be hiding somewhere else, try this key next HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

other things to check.

Nothing anywhere for emaqivuxe.dll

So maybe try Malwarebytes free if nothing else works.

BurrWalnut, 1st option only showed AB Default Reg-SZ value not set.
2nd option produced list but did not contain emaqivuxe.dll
Thanks for your help, any more ideas?

I gave you the two most obvious keys, I could list more but I think MBAM will remove it click here If not, you will have to run something like HijackThis.

I have just run MBAM - restarted pc and it's still there . I am now going to check microsoft for updates. i don't know what HijackThis is?

  Guy Fawkes 10:09 13 Feb 2010

Nothing in microsoft updates!

Thanks for your help. It was C-Cleaner that actually removed it in the end
