I get this error message on startup of xp 'error loading C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~2.DLL the spaecified module could not be found. I have searched thru the threads but nothing about my problem.Could you please help me.thanks ps. what is a RUNDLL file.
To answer the second part of your question, RUNDLL (and RUNDLL32) are applications that call the data from dll files. They often get the blame for problems because error messages often say something like "rundll caused a fault in xyz.dll". Usually, however, the real problem is in the DLL that is being accessed by RUNDLL. DLL is short for Dynamic Link Library which is a library of executable functions or data that can be used by a Windows application. The use of DLL files is central to the way Windows works, which why so many Windows errors are associated with DLL errors.
