Rpc terminates

my system keeps shutting down saying rpc has been unexpextedly terminated can anyone please help!

Have you just connected to the internet when this happens? there's yet another thread just posted on this too.

i have been having the same problem tonight,i have done a virus scan which was ok, im using freeserve at the moment touch wood it has stopped doing it so im wondering if it had anything to do with the server

Can't find the other thread. This has happened to me tonight too...

Is the fact that it seems to be happening to loads of folks at once significant? Anyone know of any likely implications of being "hacked" - I mean, is it more likely to be a "one man band" snooping into our hard drives, or an automated system sifting thru to find ..... well God knows what?!
