the rpc server is unavailable message
Whilst trying to download images to Windows XP from a digital camera the above message appeared. I've no idea what to do about it, it's the first time the message has ever come up. What do I do?
check control panel/administrative tools/services/ and scroll down to "remote procedure call",double click and set to automatic from the list in the drop down box.set "remote procedure call locator" below the above to manual.try also setting the print spooler service to automatic also if your having problems there.
restart the computer to take effect.
oh and "windows image acquisition" should also be set to auto for cameras and scanners.
I changed the rpc locator to automatic and it works a treat now. Thanks huggy71.
