Routers and Viruses/Worms

OK, so this Sasser thing is pretty big. Both puters in my 'mini' network are patched, checked, and clean. But I am checking them daily!
I know that Sasser just floats round the net, not requiring any .EXE files to be executed of anything, but it can't live ON the net, can it. Surely it needs to live on servers/puters somewhere??

Assuming the above is correct, although all puters on the network are shut doen of a night, can Sasser (or any other virus/worm) affect my router then spread to the network once a machinhe is powered up??

This is just a thought, but I'm sure alot of people here would like to know!

Thanks, Jay

Internet "nasties" targetted at Windows operating systems are not going to affect a router, or be 'stored' in a router for future infection of Windows.
