reverting back to vista

please help, i have installed a fresh copy of win 7 but unfortunately lost the activation key when i moved homes. is there any way i can restore back to my vista that was pre installed on my laptop??

i cannot get my product key. when i installed W7 it put vista in a folder, how do i revert back to vista and get rid of this horrible W7?

Did you try the suggestions?You can revert to vista if you made restore discs when you first bought the laptop,or you may be able to restore from a restore partition,difficult to know without knowing type of laptop.

when i installed 7 it put vista in a folder called windows.old. is there anyway i can utilise this to put vista back on my laptop?

Any reason why don't you like W7?

I guess you've lost the Vista's product key? if for W7, follow buteman's suggestion and run SIW click here should tell you the product key after clicking licenses.

Anyway for Vista you should see your product key underneath the laptop and if you've wiped the hard drive then borrow a same version of Vista DVD,install and activate using the your own key.

Once reinstalled you can delete windows.old
