restoring .dbx files

athenrye 05/09/07 had exactly the same problem that I have and it didn't seem to be resolved.
My mail backup folder appears in My docs.Should it be somewhere else and if so, where? I know the Options; Maintenance;change store folder route.
Messages that I have moved from inbox to a sub folder vanish into a My Docs file next time I open OE I only want to be able to read my saved messages.Help--I'm going round in circles!

You should be able to just drag the files in Windows Explorer onto the old DBX and it will over-write the old ones

I think they should be stored in the store folder,

The "Store Folder" is the directory on your computer where Outlook Express keeps all your message folders (each message folder is a .DBX file).

In OE6 it is really easy to find the Store Folder.

Choose Tools -> Options. Select the Maintenance tab and click the "Store Folder" button.
