I have built a Media Center PC which is hidden away. it uses a wireless K/B and Mouse. is it possible to restart the machine from the wireless k/b or mouse after shutdown?

Some BIOS' allow the option to 'wake on keyboard' you'll have to check that yours supports this. It's normally in the PME section/Advanced section along with wake on ring, wake on LAN, etc. However, I think this only works when the system is in standby/sleep. You can also go to device manager, select your keyboard, right-click, select properties, and power management and check "Allow this device to wake the computer"

This will depend on the s[ec of your MCE PC....some If it is possible, you will need to access the BIOS (usually done by pressing either the DEL key or F2 on boot-up (if you watch your screen on startup, it will tell you which of these applies. Be careful in your BIOS, as making incorrect changes can result in your system refusing to boot, or becoming unstable.

When in your BIOS scroll through the various otions and sub-menus until you find an item along the lines of "wake up events" If your zyztem supports the start from keyboard function...this is where you will see it...make the appropriate change IE: enable...then you should be off and running.
