Replacement laptop battery not working

  crespo 15:33 15 Oct 2013

Hi, my new replacement laptop battery won't operate without mains power. As soon as i switch it off, the laptop switches off as well. I also have to jiggle the powerjack to keep the power on when it IS switched on mains power. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

power lack socket loose on motherboard will cause loss of power and loss of battery charging.

Its is repairable (a common problem) not cheap as requires laptop strip repair and rebuild which is time consumming its the labour costs.

A jack socket is cheap if you can DIY, I have done this repair on my Toshiba. Satellite laptop Plenty of places to show how done and buy a DC jack socket on the web

Make and model of laptop?

If you are anywhere near to Bradford I know a great repair shop there. They turned my Sony Vaio round in 24 hours using a power jack that was not available in UK and had imported some from USA
