This unit is no longer supplied as a box by HP and they advise only way to obtain direct replacement from them is man-in-a-van at appx 330.00 cost.Cannot myself seem to find other sources on the net .. suggestions welcome as would like to continue to use existing tapes, one of which is new, rather than go to newer incompatible tape system.Failing that suggestions on replacement backup systems for similar GB also welcome.PC is 3 yrs old running Windows 98.
Alternative backup suggestion - Hard Drive in an external box or removeable caddy.Possibly quicker and more reliable the a tape unit - and definately higher capacity.
Tape drives are incredibly expensive nowadays, compared to HDDs - see click here for a fairly typical example.Have you considered that you can get several 100GB+ HDDs for £330, as well as good backup software?
