Replace ME with Win 98 but keep docs and progs

  pavel 23:03 28 Mar 2004

Having had a mega string re:pc not starting I have an idea that the PC is incompatable with ME but will run 98. So I want to instal 98 without losing Docs OR progs such as Norton 2003 and drivers for my printer etc.
Is this posible? If so How do I do it? Thank you

This, I would suggest is best achieved by formatting and reinstalling the programs that you need again...

If you don't have the other programs on CD, then you might be have a problem.

Documents can be backed up easily enough, as can emails, adress books, favourites, and so on.

You cannot without saving all you work and format and load Win98. You can get a program to collect all your drivers of the Hard drive so these can be reinstalled after

You could partition the HDD using click here for 30 quid. This would allow you to transfer your documents etc. to the other partition before formatting C drive and therefore they would remain untouched.
