Repeating email from 'friend' every 14 minutes

Friend moved house and emailed new details to everyone on his personal address book. Everyone is now getting the same message every 14 minutes - it stops at weekends. Norton can label it spam but this is only dealing with the symptom, how to stop it. Outlook options seems to show original server but what to do? Is there a silver bullet?

your friends pc would appear to be infected, ask him to temporarily remove you from his mailing list until he has done a full viral, adaware, etc scan.

" Is there a silver bullet?" You don't want to shot him if he's a friend.

Seriously though, have you either emailed them back called them on the twisted pair to mention it to them? They may not know.

VoG's link is the more probable

There are no attachments, friend thinks his laptop was clean, had been running an almost up to date AV on it (max 1 week ood)

Yep but it could still be the timeout settings.
