Repairing Printers

  spuds 13:10 06 Dec 2008

I believe that some printer manufacturers might run special courses on printer repairs and maintenance. But doe's anyone know if there are on-line or easy to obtain 'technician' manuals on this subject.

Any help or advice much appreciated.

Might be worth a Google search.

Already done that, and a look at eBay, hence the question here ;o)

Would mention that I have obtained a cd-rom with some 'techy' information, but it doesn't go far enough.

But common printers in general are considered 'consumable' therefore spare may be hard to come by or non existent
But as a general interest thing- taking one apart and cannibalizing a similar model as a hobby- may be interesting if a little mucky

Your last paragraph hit the nail on the head. Just obtained a 'few' store returns of a particular manufacturer ;o)

Thanks for the responses everyone. Will tick this as resolved.

Please be careful with printers as they have capaciters in them and can discharge when touched.
Do not use an earthing strap whilst you have the case off. The general rule of thumb for printers is, if its broken dump it.
