Removing Graphics Card drivers

Having decided to uprgrade my graphics card, I would like some advice as to how I should remove the drivers for my existing card.

In add/remove programs, there is an entry for my existing card's driver so can I simply remove them from there or should I also remove the card in device manager.

OS is Windows XP

Thank you.

If you can put your old driver onto a cdr just in case it goes pear shaped. Yes remove your entry in add/rem and also highlight your graphics card in device manager and remove. Your system should ask for the cd that comes with your new card when you have installed the new one. If not put the cd in and load the drivers and update your driver in device manager

Thanks Altair.

I do have a backup copy of the drivers on a CD although I will be changing from a Geforec 2 to a Radeon 9700 card.
