remove upgrade to IE8 message

I keep getting a message asking me to upgrade to IE8. As everything is working OK, I am not very keen on doing so. Is there any advantage?

How can I get rid of this message? The only options are to 'upgrade now' or 'remind me later'.

I have Vista on the laptop.

The message came up again this morning! I have gone to windows update again and IE update is still 'hidden'. Any suggestions?

Many thanks, smackheadz. It sounds just the job - I will discuss it with my pc expert who I will be seeing in the next week or two.
