I have just downloaded and run RegSeeker based on the advise given in another thread in this Forum. I ran Clean the Registry and it found 472 entries which I deleted and ensured that a backup was made.

A couple of questions:

What is the point of cleaning the registry? Will it speed up my PC because there's now less crap there or is there another reason?

If I want to restore those deleted entries from the Backup, how do I do that?

I use regseeker and have had no problems with it.
I usually delete everything it finds in "clean the registry".It does clean out all the clutter and therefore will increase the pc.

If you want to restore the backup, just click the backup tab in regseeker and all the previous backups will be listed, double click the file you want and reg editor will open and ask if you want to add to registry.

I usually delete old backup entries after making sure pc is running ok.
