When I switch on my Toshiba 1640CDT Laptop I get a Small Red Box with text in it. This happens so fast I cannot read it. I assume it is a warning of some type.

How do I keep the message on screen long enough to read it.

If you are really quick, try pressing the

pause

key when it is starting up. You may be able to start it.

It may be of no consequence.

Yep, thats done it pressed Pause and got the message held. It advises that the save to disk feature is disabled and I need to run Phdisk for information . File :- Create new Partition consult manual.

Unfortunately this would mean reinstalling the whole system software as I only have the manufacturers Installation Disks.

So thats the problem solved. I have managed with you help to read the warning.
