Is it possible to recover files from a mis-burned DVD?

The DVD won't open in a number of DVD drives but data has clearly been burned to it.

You could try this: click here I think you have to pay £25-ish, but if the data is critical, it'd be worth it...

Am i missing something here or are the files that you burnt to this CD still not in the folder that you put them in first...

And cant you not go to the files on the disc and copy them?

Thanks for all the pointers. I'll have a dabble!

The files were backed up to DVD because I was about to reformat the HDD. After each burn, I checked for success by viewing the files in explorer. All was well.

However, the second disc cannot be read by any drive I've tried including the drive which carried out the original burning!

A friend used Badcopy Pro v4.1 to rescue about 50% of the files on the DVD. Not perfect but nevertheless not a bad result.
