Someone from a music forum was able to record from the Virgin Radio online player to an mp3 file! I asked this person how they were able to do this and their answer confused me: "through my computer from the radio player in the computer to a program which lets me record". Can anyone tell me how I can record from an online radio player? Thanks in advance for all help.

I have an Audigy2 sound card that allows me to 'record what I hear'. Don't know if other sound cards have the same option, but I'm sure there's software out there somewhere that'll do the same thing.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately the product costs money...if anyone knows of a free program that does the same could they let me know? Thanks

you could always record in the standard WAV format ( need alot of disk space) and rip it using a MP3 ripping utility, they are not hard to find. Also I think that 'realone player'at click here has a facility to capture audio in Mp3 format. It costs about $30 with a free 14 day trial.

I think a lot of the Sound Blaster cards have the "what you hear" setting.

To convert to MP3 try SIMPLE MP3 from click here

Ok I can dl the Simple MP3 to convert to MP3 but I still need a program that can 'capture what I hear', anyone know of any such programs?

preferably capturing streaming audio from windows media player...i've dl a few utilities but none seem to work, they are supposed to capture sound played by going through the soundcard, but because I am playing windows media player, none of them will record as they need to use C-Media (which seems to be needed for media player to work)
