rdram can you fit 2x256 & 2x128 together

i have a dell dimension 8100 1.7 2x128 rdram fitted at the moment with 2 spare slots can i fit 2x256 along side to make 768? also i have 2 hard drives one with xp installed can i install xp on my other h/drive and then format the old one to wipe it off of drive C i hope you can figure out what im trying to say Thanks davro

memory should be installed according to your motherboard manual. It is important to get the right memory in the right slots or you will not get the performance that you want. Dell has an excellent web page where you can type in your pc serial number and get advice re upgrades.

To install xp on your other hard drive, make this the master and the other the slave. Boot from the xp disc in your cd drive, and it will take you through installation.
