It is best to use top quality ram as the cheaper stuff is made from reject chips. Rambus is expensive, I added 256 to my computer it came as a boxed kit containing a matched pair of 128 sticks and cost £149. I moved the pair of 64 sicks that were already installed to slots 3 and 4 and installed the new sticks in slots 0 and 1.
If your motherboad has 4 slot you will find there are 2 blank crimms in in two of the slots. Remember to take anti-static precautions before touchining the ram and wear anti satic wrist strap.
