RAM Upgrade from existing 4GB: Mbrd=TOSHIBA (U3E1)

  sundo377 01:06 10 Apr 2018

Objective/Purpose: Double or Max-out the RAM on my laptop. A computer users group in my area said I need DDR3 L - 1600 (1600 MHz I guess).

My local Tech says RAM chips for this computer are no longer produced.

MY QUESTION: should I order one 8GB DDR3 L - 1600 RAM chip from EBay and stick it into the second slot (given that I either have 2 existing slots occupied by 2GB RAM chips each, or more likely only 1 of 2 existing slots already occupied by a 4GB RAM stick)?

->>> Can anyone suggest a way to accomplish my objective please?

Motherboard: TOSHIBA Portable PC (U3E1) CPU: Intel Pentium 2020M @ 2.40GHz Ivy Bridge 22nm Technology RAM: 4.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)

OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit

LABEL on back of laptop says: Satellite C50-A -002 MODEL NO PSCF6C-002016 SERIAL NO. 6D027844Q DC 19V ---... 3.42A
