I have got a really slow PC, which I want to speed up a bit. I am going to add some RAM Memory to it, however Belarc etc. cannot find the info for the memory. I have taken it out and have got it in front of me, but I cannot see any particular model names or anything, just a string of numbers and letters:
SDRAM is available from Crucial UK click here Seems you would be better off with PC100 SDRAM because its cheaper than PC100 but it will only work in your PC at the slower speed. Your PC apparently will only support 512MB of SDRAM in two slots which means either a max of 512 in one slot or 2 x 256MB in each slot. You haven't given the make of your PC just the motherboard. Crucial are putting up this MS-5182 memory as 184 pin DIMM so something is wrong somewhere. Check out on this website giving your PC maker for compatible memory but I think non parity 168 pin DIMM PC133 or PC100 should be suitable.
Yes - you can do that. Strange tho that Crucial website on a search for MS-5182 lists the memory as 184 pin DIMM.. However, if you are convinced its 168 pin then go ahead and order. I would still check with them, however. They prob will not take it back if you order the wrong type
