ram slot not working please help

hello, I have 2 ram slots on my gigabyte mobo, I have 2 sticks of corsair vengeance ddr3 4gb,although my pc is only picking up one of the sticks, I tested the different sticks and it looks like one of the slots aren't working, can someone please help

Im using 2 4gb sticks with a gigabyte fm2 family, it should be able to take it

I assume you are using a 64 bit version of your Windows operating system. Just worth checking. Which mother board are you using. Need the number as there are hundreds of Gigabyte motherboards.

Have you tried each stick one at a time in both slots ?

Double check you are running windiws 64bit by going to Explorer - Right click This PC - select Properties for the list.

There's not alot you can do if the slot itself is faulty I don't think it can be switched off in BIOS but worth a check
