is it ok to have 2 ram sticks in a computer that both different speeds.
I have 1x 512mb pc2100 and 1x512mb that is pc2800
is this ok.

It should be, though the system will operate at the speed of the slowest module.

I think it's usually OK, david889, but you will probably find that the RAM will not operate faster than the speed of the slower stick.

ok so should i change the slower ram 4 the same speed ram as the fast 1

You could, but I don't think you will notice much difference between PC2100 and PC2800.

its not a desktop its a laptop so i dont no.
the laptop is a dell latitude c840
