Ralink wireless LAN Card not exist

  armychef 10:31 04 Aug 2010

Hi guys, I have experienced the above problem this morning. My Advent 6301 laptop's Ralink wireless card was working perfectly yesterday and every other day for the near 2 years I have this machine then this morning it has refused to work. The wireless icon on task bar has gone black, I have restarted the machine twice and restored once. I have searched ralink drivers using their driver utility but they demand a payment so that the utility downloads the releavant info. Can anyone suggest another way to fix this problem?
Many thanks in anticipation.

Don't know the answer to this one but I'll move it to the top by asking whether your card shows up correctly in device manager and does it give any indication of a problem there?

Uninstall and reinstall driver in device manager.

If no good then remove refit wireless card to remake the connections and retry.
