i have seen people using rainbow coloured font in chat rooms how do you do this is there a programme?

It maybe generic to that particular chatroom have you tried clciking on "font" the style might be there..

I think I know what you are on about...

I used to use a program where you could pick two colours and the colours of the individual characters within the word would be slightly different so that it looked like it faded from one to the other.

However, using it in an AOL chat room kept getting me chucked out. Although I wasn't quite sure why.

This looks similar to the one I used. I prefer being boring and using one colour now though :P

Chat users will probably be using a chat client like mIRC, rainbow text can then be configured manually or by use of a script, search for coloured text scripts.

Many chat rooms and operators do not like scripts being used to generate anything ie coloured texts or ascii images etc , so only use them were accepted.

I personally find text like this hard to read and irritating.
