question on ext monitor for laptop

if i use a ext monitor on my laptop ,can the laptop screen be disabled so i can only see the external monitor ?

i would think a lot depends on graphics card type among other things.

Yes, of course. You can toggle between the two, using the Fn key + one other key.

ok can i get the laptop to start up everytime with the ext monitor and disable the laptop monitor,than for help

External screen may only come on when windows boots.

it really depends on the laptop, IBM and HP have menu systems to set which screen to use as your defaultf setting usually TFT is default but you can set to external screen.

This menu is only vailable once windows boots
